Each school year, the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System hires around 500 teachers. Most of these teachers are coming from other areas throughout the state or country and need affordable housing to be able to move and help educate our youth. According to SCCPSS, the teachers in our school system make an annual salary of around $40,000, which after taxes leaves a take-home amount of around $2,000.
