Advocating for Our Industry
The Georgia Apartment Association’s (GAA) Government Affairs Team is dedicated to advocating on behalf of all GAA members in state and local legislative matters and keeping you informed about how existing and proposed laws may impact the way you do business across the state. Each year legislators make proposals at the state and local level that could make the construction and/or management of apartment communities more difficult. Through long-standing relationships with policymakers on both sides of the aisle, the GAA team works to convey to them the damage that could be done to an industry whose primary purpose is to provide quality rental homes to families in Georgia.
All members of local affiliate apartment associations also belong to the Georgia Apartment Association (GAA) and the National Apartment Association (NAA). Access to your Government Affairs Team is one of the major benefits of your membership and a key component to the success of our industry in Georgia. Even when the Georgia Legislature is not in session, our Government Affairs Team is working around the clock for you – building relationships, monitoring legislative activity, and providing valuable industry perspectives on proposed state and local legislation.
